Steve visiting Pacific Christian School
A sought-after public speaker, Steve is renowned for his ability to bridge the gap between the worldviews of "pure rationality" and "pure faith". Growing up in a non-Christian home and having spent years studying world religions, he is able to offer insightful perspectives that have inspired audiences worldwide no matter their faith background. His captivating presentations delve into the unfathomable beauty and complexity of a universe that glorifies and reveals its Maker (Romans 1:20), bringing a unique blend of expertise and reverence to each engagement. His dynamic speaking style, coupled with his unwavering commitment to both scientific inquiry and Christian apologetics leaves audiences "filled with awe and empowered for the tough conversations" (audience testimonials).
Steve has spoken at a variety of venues for ages 10 to 106 (so far): Church services and special events, conferences, Bible studies, senior centres, college/young adult/youth groups, as well as public and private schools. Each talk is customised and tailored to the group depending on your needs and optionally includes insightful follow-up questions for small group discussions. Rates vary depending on group size, preparation time, equipment needed, and travel considerations. Contact Steve for more information!
Growing up in a non-Christian home, Steve knew nothing about Jesus until late in life. In fact, he was nothing but antagonistic to Christians and their claim that theirs was the only way to God. While embarking on a spiritual journey through the Quran, the Upanishads, the Dhammapadda and more, he discovered that two of his university friends were Christians. Soon after, he made it his life mission to rescue them from Jesus. After studying scripture and the biblical languages analytically over a period of 5 years, it ended up being Jesus who rescued him.
Much of our modern culture would have us believe that science and faith are at odds with one another. This is simply not true. For centuries, the great scientists responsible for profound discoveries that have shaped our daily lives and furthered our understanding of nature were, in fact, motivated by their belief in God. So, how can we reconcile the discouraging gap that has emerged between modern science and Biblical faith? Join Steve on a journey through scripture that will equip you with tools for the deep conversations about “life, the universe, and everything”. Together, we will pick up what science has left behind.

(Psalm 19, with interactive activity)
There is a fundamental problem with pictures of our solar system: they are never drawn to-scale. The images we were shown in school create a false impression of the scale of the cosmos while, in reality, the planets are so far away from one another, we can scarcely imagine. Psalm 19 says that "The heavens declare the glory of God; the Skies proclaim the work of His hands". Join Steve in uncovering God's glory and work by taking a tour through the skies starting in our solar system and expanding outward to the farthest reaches of space and time to show how God's incredible love is evident when we look at His creation. Suitable for all ages, the optional activity requires a significant amount of space such as a church sanctuary or an open field.
(Genesis 2:7, with interactive activity)
Genesis 2:7 makes the surprising claim that Adam was physically formed from the dust of the ground before God breathed life into his nostrils. What does it mean to be made of the dust from the ground? Are we made of dirt? The short, answer is: yes. Exploring the techniques astronomers use to figure out what space is made of, take part in a safe and engaging scientific experiment involving helium, high voltage, and heavenly glory to discover the truth in the earliest chapters of the Old Testament.
Contact Steve to chat about a wide array of talks (or series of talks) fielding questions surrounding the marriage of science and faith, the textual history of the Bible and its reliability, miracles, Old Testament references to Jesus, New Testament references to the Old, and more by request! Especially during advent season, Steve loves talking about the Christmas star that led magi to Jesus (Matthew 2).
